AgroecoliveLab

Currently, the Applied Agroecology Group, Agroecolivelab, is made up of a team of researchers involved in various projects, research technicians, and PhD students in the process of completing their doctoral theses, coordinated by Professor of Ecology at the University of Jaén, Roberto García Ruiz.

Although we address a wide range of research lines related to agroecology, our main areas of focus are sustainable management practices for various crops—particularly olive groves—and the study of the carbon cycle within this agroecosystem. Thanks to our trajectory, AgroecoliveLab is an international reference group in the development of protocols for carbon credit certification in the olive sector.

Communicating and disseminating

In the PROJECTS section, visitors will find an overview of the main projects the group has recently participated in or is currently developing. We are also open to collaborating with international consortia working on initiatives aligned with our research interests.

Communicating and disseminating the results of our research to farmers and society at large is one of the central goals of our work (see RESOURCES section). To this end, we devote continuous effort to producing outreach materials written in clear language and presented in an accessible format, helping stakeholders in the olive sector understand the importance of moving towards a more sustainable production model.
